School Event Videography

Your School's Story, Told Beautifully

From milestone events to polished brand films — we capture schools in their best light.

What We Offer Schools

EJG Films partners with schools across Brisbane to create video content that families treasure and institutions are proud to share. Whether you're looking to capture a milestone moment or tell your school's story through polished video, we bring the same cinematic care and professionalism to every project.

School Events

We cover the moments that matter most — graduations, formals, awards nights, live performances like musicals, plays and band concerts, sports events, celebrations, and everything in between.

We offer flexible packages to suit events of all sizes, and coverage can include full recordings, highlight reels, event recaps, and social media content — whatever serves the moment best.

Advertising & Branding

We also help schools put their best foot forward through intentional, high-quality video content.

This might be a cinematic brand film to headline your school's homepage, or a series of shorter videos that bring your culture, values, and approach to learning to life — the kind of content that speaks to prospective families before they've even walked through the door.

Case Study

Centenary State High School Promotional Video

The Centenary State High School Promotional Video stands as an example of what intentional school advertising can look like when it's built from the ground up with care. Created before the founding of EJG Films, I was involved from start to finish — helping write the script, recording and mixing all audio, filming, and editing the final cut — all during my final year of high school.

The video takes a deliberately broad approach, moving through everything from classrooms, drama and dance to robotics, VR, sport, and even Betty the school's beloved support dog — capturing the full breadth of life at Centenary SHS. Visually, it balances natural, candid-feeling footage with more considered stylistic choices, such as dramatic lighting during the robotics and VR sequences, and dynamic moving shots during volleyball and touch football. A standout moment is the green room facility, showcased in a sequence following students both in front of and behind the camera, before transitioning from raw green screen to a fully composited background. All voiceovers were performed by students, and the score was recorded by the school's own band — giving the finished piece an authenticity that's difficult to manufacture.

Every creative decision in this video — from the lighting choices to the breadth of content covered — was mapped out during early planning to ensure the final product struck exactly the right tone. This is the EJG Films approach: involved at every step, from initial concept through to final delivery, working closely with each school to understand what makes them unique and building a creative vision around that. The specifics change with every project, but that commitment to intention and craft stays the same.

School FAQs

Every project is treated as unique, so all work is either custom quoted or charged by the hour. Get in touch and we'll put together something that fits your specific needs.

For events, we recommend booking as early as possible to secure your date. For projects without a fixed filming date, things can be more flexible — but as a general rule, the earlier the better, and we'll always do our best to make it work.

The most important starting point is a clear goal and scope for the project. From there, we can work through the details together.

It depends on the project. Smaller event-style jobs generally don't require a site visit, but larger projects will typically include one or more in-person meetings throughout the process, particularly in the planning stage.

That's entirely up to you, though collaboration tends to lead to the best results. We bring filmmaking expertise and a creative eye, but you know your school — combining both gives us the strongest foundation to work from.

How much of the scripting we handle versus the school is entirely up to you. Collaboration here, as with the rest of the process, generally leads to the best outcome, and scripting by EJG Films can be factored into the project cost if needed.

Image release is always the school's responsibility and must be completed before filming begins. Attempting to remove students from footage after the fact creates a significant administrative burden and will likely affect the final result, the cost, or both.

Most projects are handled solo, but if a job calls for additional crew, that can be arranged.

Absolutely. There may be a few points where we need to work together — particularly around audio — but generally we're there to complement your AV team, not get in their way.

Audio varies based on the situation and will often involve a combination of tools selected for the job. For live events, we may also request an audio feed from your AV team. While we don't claim broadcast-level audio production, we bring a range of equipment and always choose what best serves the project.

For hourly bookings, additional time is simply charged at the standard hourly rate. For project-based bookings, some flexibility is built in for minor overruns, but significant additional time will incur an additional fee in line with the hourly rate.

It varies widely depending on the project — anywhere from same-day for social media content to a couple of months for major projects. We always aim to deliver as soon as possible, and if you have a specific deadline in mind, let us know and we'll do our best to work to it.

For hourly bookings, revisions are unlimited — you simply pay for the time. For project-based bookings, revision terms are set in the project conditions. Any changes requested after receiving a draft are considered a revision and may incur additional fees depending on your agreement.

The school owns full rights to the final product and is free to use it however they wish. We'll generally hold onto the raw footage in case it's needed down the track, and may seek permission to share the final video as an example of our work — though this is never a requirement and is always open to discussion.
